On the same day, Westbrook also reportedly said in his newsletter that he will undergo surgery to repair his two fractures. "Thank you to everyone who has supported him throughout the season. I am waiting for the day when I will return to the court in 100 percent condition soon. The return has already begun."

Westbrook averaged 27.9 minutes, 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in 75 games for Denver this season. He was a key six-man, as well as a game changer.

Denver reached the second round of the Western Conference playoff, but packed up after losing Game 7 to the No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder. During this period, Westbrook played with a taping on his finger, but did not prevent his team from losing.

He also had the most triple-doubles (203) in NBA history. He is ranked eighth in assists (9,925) and 23rd in scoring (26,205 points). However, he has never won an NBA Finals yet.
